Relevant Insurance is required wherever you live and work- please read

As a matter of professional conduct Birthlight requires all teachers to have the relevant insurance to teach their case studies and continue as a qualified teacher. This requirement applies wherever you live.

If you live in the UK or any of the EEA countries…

Birthlight has a long-standing relationship with BGi insurance (BGi.uk.com for those based in the UK and BGI.eu.com for those based in EEA countries with whom you can get insurance when starting your case study teaching for your coursework. Their insurance is available for both ‘in-training’ teachers and those already fully qualified: you must be living or working in the UK, or any of the countries in the EEA – The European Economic Area consisting of all the EU countries plus Norway, Iceland and Lichtenstein). The insurance provided is valid ‘World-Wide other than the USA and Canada.

The BGi facility provides insurance in all the areas of expertise that Birthlight trains teachers in, including Aquanatal Yoga and Baby and Toddler swimming under a single policy.

They also cover a wide range of related activities, including Antenatal Education, Baby Wearing, Massage, Ayurveda, Doula work, etc. under the same policy.

Even if you are insured elsewhere, it may be worth getting a quote from BGi who work closely with us. Birthlight members automatically qualify for a £10.00 discount.

Remember Malpractice and Liability insurance is compulsory as soon as you start your case studies and when you qualify, wherever you live and work.
