Who Open to all, come for yourself to learn a new form of self care, or come to be able to share this with friends and family or students in your classes or workshops. Self-massage nourishes or cleanses all the parts of the body, depending on whether you use oil or do it dry. It ‘maps’ different parts of the body in the brain, helping to sense the body truly as a whole. All types of self-massage are a nurturing and beneficial practice for all women but particularly for teachers to share in Well woman classes and workshops.
CPD description Ayurveda, the sister science to yoga, has many wonderful ways to support health and well-being. Self-massage is one such element that is easily practised as it can either be done ‘dry’ over the clothes, directly on the skin with oil or as dry-brushing. Each version has different effects on the body and mind.

In this short CPD Liese van Dam, Ayurveda practitioner, teacher at the Ayurveda Practitioner Studies at Delight Academy in Amsterdam and Birthlight teacher, will teach you a massage sequence which you can do over your clothes.

You will also get all the information you need to be able to do this massage as an abhyanga – a nourishing self massage with pleasantly warm oil.

And you will learn all about an Ayurvedic lymphatic massage in the form of Garshan massage, an ayurvedic self-massage with special silk gloves to help activate your lymphatic system.

All three versions include a thorough breast massage, making it especially beneficial for women. The massage sequence includes different movements, yogic breathing and parts of the fully clothed version can easily be incorporated into a yoga sequence.
