• Health professionals (nursery nurses, health visitors, family support workers) with a related interest

• ‘Mothers’ route to training’ (Birthlight apprenticeships)

Note: Applicants with no previous knowledge of infant development need to complete the anatomy and physiology pre-reading module as preparation for taking this course.

This course is taught  livestream on Zoom, this training is includes online learning, ensuring that students can review, practice, deepen and test their skills and knowledge beyond the course contact hours. The supporting resources are substantial and will involve an investment of time and commitment alongside the live interactive contact, and will enable you to create a professional range of enjoyable sessions of nurturing baby massage and baby yoga for babies from 4 weeks to pre-mobile. Contents can be adapted to suit your families’ and groups’ needs or individual pairs.

There is coursework to be completed following the course, consisting of a case study for 4 sessions, all of the forms for which are provided.  

This course can be followed by Birthlight Integrated Nurturing Baby Massage and Baby Yoga 2 which will:

• Deepen your understanding of infant development to include older and mobile babies in classes
• consider  the needs and challenges of older and mobile babies in a class and extend your repertoire of moves and practices to include them 
•  Further your knowledge of gentle progressive yoga appropriate for mothers as they begin to heal and supportive practices for parents
• offer a range of new ideas through the use of props 
• Consolidate your confidence as a teacher able to offer classes for a range of baby needs and ages

Friday 6.30-8pm, Saturday 9am -5pm, Sunday 9am -1pm both weekends

The course will be taught live by Marion O’Connor in a Livestream Blended course format via Zoom with online course component.  See our faq for details about the course format.  

Note: Zoom with broadband connection is a requirement (you will be emailed a Zoom invite link which will enable you to access the Zoom part of the course).
