| Who | This course is open to: Swimming Teachers who wish to gain comprehensive skills in teaching Parents and babies; Professionals working with parents and babies with an interest in teaching in water; mothers and fathers who have experience of baby swimming with their children and want to develop teacher skills. |
| What (description) | The course imparts the complete set of skills needed by a parent-baby swimming teacher, in a practical way and with informative backup resources. In its face to face version, the course includes at least one pool session per day, supplemented by clips. The course manual covers both contents and teaching methods. Birthlight’s priority is to ensure that teachers are confident in creating happy but effective pool classes. The foundations of future swimming are best established through promoting enjoyable interactions between parents and their babies. Submersion is taught on a child-led basis. In summary, this course is highly technical but promotes a warm friendly approach to baby swimming.The course is tutor assessed, with a practical pool assessment on the last day. |
