We focus on stabilising the core and reconnecting with the pelvic floor as well as easing out postnatal aches and pains. Baby Yoga is included as well as mutually beneficial movements. Classes are fun and playful in a relaxed environment.
Well Woman Yoga focuses on nurturing yoga that promotes core and pelvic floor health. This is a fun relaxed class.
I am passionate about women’s health, from conception, birth to menopause and beyond. The yoga classes I offer to women provide them with invaluable tools to help transform, empower and heal their body’s and minds in a gentle but effective way. I qualified in Birthlight Pre-Natal Yoga in 2007, and Post-Natal Yoga in 2008, and Well Woman Yoga 2020.
I am currently offering on-line group classes via Zoom and face-to-face 1-2-1’s.
I joined the Birthlight team of teachers after completing my Pre-natal Yoga Diploma in 2006. I then went onto complete my Baby Yoga Diploma and Wellwoman Yoga Diploma. I have also completed a Birth Preparation Course. I have taught a Birthlight CPD on Prenatal Yoga.
My name is Karen Wilson and I have been studying and practising yoga for over 10 years here and in America.
My training is recognised by the British Wheel of Yoga, Yoga Alliance and the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs). I am also fully insured.
My classes incorporate the philosophy of hatha yoga with the asana (postural work) and prananyama (breath control). I teach mixed ability classes, private on-to-one yoga, pregnancy, postnatal, baby yoga and baby massage. (Please check out these pages for more details.)
I started practising in Chicago as a means of meeting people whilst I was on assignment with my job. On my return to the UK I continued my practice, attending various classes whilst continuing my corporate job. In 2009 I decided to re-order my life and combine my passion for yoga with the desire for a ‘career’. I left my 9-5 job and started my teaching diploma. I started teaching my first class a year into my course – 10 years on and I haven’t looked back once!
I have been undertaking professional development in yoga for cancer (those undergoing treatment, post surgery and carer support), long covid and chronic fatigue syndrome as well as additional studies in menstrual cycle awareness and knee rehabilitation.
The last 10 years has seen a lot of change through my life, relocations, job changes, studying, pregnancy, motherhood and even the way in which I practise yoga. However yoga has been with me throughout both on and off the mat regardless of how small a time I can manage to fit in. The yoga philosophy has helped me come to understand and manage these changes and the time of my mat has helped me to hold onto something concrete whilst also understanding that even my yoga practise has to adapt with life.
I offer pregnancy, postnatal and baby yoga classes and also baby massage classes in the Woking area. My classes are friendly and welcoming with the option of social media groups to be part of a local supportive community. Currently classes are all online with the hope to returning to socially distance classes when we can.
My tried and tested live and interactive sessions whether online or in-person are great for creating a lasting bond, stimulating and supporting a baby’s physical, emotional and social development as well as helping to relieve colic, sleeping difficulties, constipation, teething and other ailments.
My baby massage & yoga courses are suitable for all parents and babies, I demonstrate on a doll and only parents massage their baby and you do not need to come from a yoga background.
Baby Massage & Yoga are a perfect pair, beautiful and loving ways to connect & soothe your baby and has fantastic health benefits.

I now run online classes for baby yoga,(Tuesday am) perinatal yoga( Tuesday evening) and adult yoga(Monday and Thursday evenings)

Among her over 2000 hours of training in many traditions of yoga, yoga therapy and doula supporting work, Vera specifically focused on training in yoga nidra, hypnosis and restorative yoga as she feels that without restorative practice and ability to enjoy and come to terms with the stillness, deep transformation is difficult, especially in the current fast-paced environment and this stillness allows our bodies to restore health in a holistic way.

Baby yoga is great for your baby’s physical, neurological and social development. We gently assist their movement to harness their natural reflexes and curiosity, we also include some baby massage. Baby yoga is great for soothing babies, releasing frustration and helping with mood and sleep.
Part of the class will be postnatal yoga (adapted for dads/carers). We strengthen pelvic floor and gently build core strength, release tight muscles and learn simple breathing practices for relaxation.
It’s a lovely way to bond and move together with your baby at the same time as meeting local mums / parents.
If you find you want to rest or feed for most of the class that is absolutely welcome.
“My baby loves Georgia’s classes – even on days when she is overtired, as soon as the class starts she is all smiles and giggles. The yoga classes are definitely her happy place!” – Jennie
