Réka is a perinatal consultant with over two decades of experience in childbirth education, pregnancy yoga, birth attendance as a doula, and counselling. She offers prenatal consultations. She is here to help stay aware, focused, present and at ease during this special time, and later on in labour so that you can draw on your natural instincts easily and trust your inner resources.

Réka started practicing yoga at the age of 16 in the Maheshwarananda tradition. After her PhD studies at Oxford University and the birth of her 3 children she initially trained with Dr. Francoise Freedman in 2003 (level 1, London) then in 2005 (level 2, Budapest). Since 2003 Réka has taught pregnancy yoga continuously. In these 20 years, working with literally thousands of expectant mums, she has been passionate about helping them find trust, balance and love in their bodies – especially during pregnancy, at birth and in the postnatal period.

She lives in Bath, Somerset.

Navigation, Intuition and Instinct

… knowing what your options are and how to navigate the pathway is so important … even the suggestion of booking in a sweep starts that ripple off …. go with your intuition and instincts – what feels right for you … navigate, negotiate and have those sensible conversations that support you and your baby so that you get the most out of the journey into motherhood and the best start.

If you are looking for a class that supports you in every way possible then please do connect … spaces available and it’s so much more than a pregnancy yoga class in the traditional sense. A Ripple Effect class is a “one-stop” shop … you get so much in terms of antenatal education, an amazing tool box for pregnancy, labour, postpartum and your everyday life which has yoga, relaxation techniques, breath work, “hypnobirthing” techniques (supporting those who have been to other classes or accessed online platforms), rebozo and self care … as well as meeting other fab ladies who are also on this journey to motherhood. They are a treat and certainly not to be missed. Add in the gorgeous bespoke Space you have a recipe that will support you all the way …

A little about me … I am a gentle soul … I pride myself on the classes I offer and the amazing work that has been shared into the community over the last 18 years … I am sure that as you journey deeper into the classes available in the area you will no doubt be seated next to someone who has been along to a Ripple class and believes that everyone needs a “Claire” … 1200 babies and families to date and 2 of my own doesn’t mean I am an expert but I am hoping I can help you shed some light to support you with your little one.

Look forward to connecting with you.

Karen.png

My name is Karen Wilson and I have been studying and practising yoga for over 10 years here and in America.

My training is recognised by the British Wheel of Yoga, Yoga Alliance and the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs). I am also fully insured.

My classes incorporate the philosophy of hatha yoga with the asana (postural work) and prananyama (breath control).  I teach mixed ability classes, private on-to-one yoga, pregnancypostnatalbaby yoga and baby massage. (Please check out these pages for more details.)

I started practising in Chicago as a means of meeting people whilst I was on assignment with my job. On my return to the UK I continued my practice, attending various classes whilst continuing my corporate job. In 2009 I decided to re-order my life and combine my passion for yoga with the desire for a ‘career’. I left my 9-5 job and started my teaching diploma. I started teaching my first class a year into my course – 10 years on and I haven’t looked back once!

I have been undertaking professional development in yoga for cancer (those undergoing treatment, post surgery and carer support), long covid and chronic fatigue syndrome as well as additional studies in menstrual cycle awareness and knee rehabilitation.

The last 10 years has seen a lot of change through my life, relocations, job changes, studying, pregnancy, motherhood and even the way in which I practise yoga. However yoga has been with me throughout both on and off the mat regardless of how small a time I can manage to fit in. The yoga philosophy has helped me come to understand and manage these changes and the time of my mat has helped me to hold onto something concrete whilst also understanding that even my yoga practise has to adapt with life.
