Baby yoga (and baby massage) classes are run in Hailsham and other areas in East Sussex (also on Zoom). Suitable from a few weeks old to crawling. Enjoy songs, stretches, gentle toning and relaxation for your baby and you and meet others. Classes are friendly, informal, inclusive and offer variations for each move for the baby according to his/her age, development stage and personality. Hi,
I’m Charly, an experienced IAIM Certified Baby Massage instructor, Leicester Mammas Breastfeeding Peer Support and a Birthlight Baby Yoga instructor.
I hold five session courses in Syston, as well as taster sessions through the year. Classes are around one and a half hours long, they include refreshments and social time too. When signed up to a course you are added to a WhatsApp group to support you, and allow you to continue conversations with your peer in class.
Sessions are welcoming, non-judgemental and a relaxed environment is created in all sessions.
please note that courses are term time only. It is asked that alternative childcare is arranged for siblings to allow you to bond with your newborn.
Friendly, relaxing small group classes suitable from 12 weeks postpartum.
Movement and relaxation for parent and baby. Stretches specially designed to aid babies developing mobility and co-ordination and to support Mums post-natal recovery and well being.
Classes running in Ely and Soham.
For Katrin, yoga is an everlasting exploration of the body and mind connection, a light-hearted search for freedom from tension. It is this connection, that not only yokes us to the present, but also to each other and nature. With baby yoga, she hopes to bring this lightness and loving approach to parenting, empowering mothers to more confidence in their everydaylife.
My name is Karen Wilson and I have been studying and practising yoga for over 10 years here and in America.
My training is recognised by the British Wheel of Yoga, Yoga Alliance and the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs). I am also fully insured.
My classes incorporate the philosophy of hatha yoga with the asana (postural work) and prananyama (breath control). I teach mixed ability classes, private on-to-one yoga, pregnancy, postnatal, baby yoga and baby massage. (Please check out these pages for more details.)
I started practising in Chicago as a means of meeting people whilst I was on assignment with my job. On my return to the UK I continued my practice, attending various classes whilst continuing my corporate job. In 2009 I decided to re-order my life and combine my passion for yoga with the desire for a ‘career’. I left my 9-5 job and started my teaching diploma. I started teaching my first class a year into my course – 10 years on and I haven’t looked back once!
I have been undertaking professional development in yoga for cancer (those undergoing treatment, post surgery and carer support), long covid and chronic fatigue syndrome as well as additional studies in menstrual cycle awareness and knee rehabilitation.
The last 10 years has seen a lot of change through my life, relocations, job changes, studying, pregnancy, motherhood and even the way in which I practise yoga. However yoga has been with me throughout both on and off the mat regardless of how small a time I can manage to fit in. The yoga philosophy has helped me come to understand and manage these changes and the time of my mat has helped me to hold onto something concrete whilst also understanding that even my yoga practise has to adapt with life.

We work with women to empower you to:
- Find time to focus on and nurture yourself, at times when your needs are often the last to be met.
- Experience the physical, mental and spiritual benefits of a yoga practice, when your body may be in need of extra support.
- Use yoga practices to help heal your body, and ease the transition and journey, post birth into motherhood, and beyond.
We work with babies, children and teens (including children with special needs) to:
- Encourage whole brain development
- Help them find quiet and better access their own resources
- Encourage creativity
- Help them learn to listen to their body
I’m Julie Bickerton, founder of Nomad Therapy, here to support and nurture you throughout pregnancy, postnatally and through menopause.
My philosophy is to promote positive touch and accessible yoga. Providing a safe space where we can be honest and open about our experiences as women and building a community where friendships are made.
After my training as a baby massage instructor and having my son, my fascination with babies continued to grow and broaden.
Now in my midlife I am expanding my experience to support women through this period of their incredible lives.
I feel very lucky in my vocation. I love what I do and I continue to learn from every woman and baby that I meet.
I have been running Yoga with Babies classes since 1997, incorporating Birthlight Baby Yoga from 2002. I currently run the following classes through the wonderfully supportive Pregnancy and Parents Centre, Edinburgh:
Postnatal Yoga with Babies – with babies under 5 months
Yoga with Babies – with babies from around 5 months to mobile
Yoga with Mobile Babies
See http://www.journeyinyoga.co.uk for more information.
I look forward to hearing from you and supporting you in your parenting journey.
Baby yoga classes are Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30am.
I also teach pregnancy yoga, please email me to book.
Baby yoga is great for your baby’s physical, neurological and social development. We gently assist their movement to harness their natural reflexes and curiosity, we also include some baby massage. Baby yoga is great for soothing babies, releasing frustration and helping with mood and sleep.
Part of the class will be postnatal yoga (adapted for dads/carers). We strengthen pelvic floor and gently build core strength, release tight muscles and learn simple breathing practices for relaxation.
It’s a lovely way to bond and move together with your baby at the same time as meeting local mums / parents.
If you find you want to rest or feed for most of the class that is absolutely welcome.
“My baby loves Georgia’s classes – even on days when she is overtired, as soon as the class starts she is all smiles and giggles. The yoga classes are definitely her happy place!” – Jennie
Liz Thompson, infant massage and yoga instructor. Works within the community, hospital setting, private practice and via referral from Islington Brightstart North and Central. Liz specialisies in empowering parents through positive touch and movement in the early weeks of parenthood for vulnerable babies and families.
Helen is a Birthlight Baby Yoga and Toddler Yoga teacher. She is also a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist.
Helen trained with The International Association of Infant Massage IAIM in 2011 having enjoyed attending Baby Massage classes with her son. In 2017 she completed Baby Yoga training with Birthlight. In Baby Yoga classes parents can continue to massage their babies and learn additional moves to support their babies co-ordination, strength and movement. The classes also provide new parents with an opportunity to talk to each other and to find ways to help them to relax and heal postnatally. She runs regular courses in Beckenham and private classes for groups of parents in their own home.
Using her knowledge and experience as a qualified Speech and Language Therapist Helen also runs baby talk classes for babies aged 6-12 months.
In 2020 Helen trained to teach Toddler Yoga with Birthlight, as she wanted to expand this valuable work with babies to parents and young children. Her Toddler Yoga classes support children’s communication skills through movement. The use of song and breath provides parents with ways to support their child’s emotional regulation.

Toddler Yoga
Fun and stimulating “Yoga Inspired” activity for the child and their adult.
Adult and child participate with one another exploring Yoga shapes & moves, mindfulness & breath-work through fun themes, music, games and often relaxing storytelling at the end of the class. This is a great chance for both the adult and the child to do a little exercise as well as discover new ways to unwind together.

Postnatal Yoga
Nurturing postnatal yoga class with the chance to incorporate the babies into the practice. Great opportunity to relax, recuperate, regain strength and meet other mums while your baby relaxes with you in a safe environment. Postnatal Yoga benefits include: Core stability (pelvic floor, abdominals, gluteus and back muscles); Realign and maintain suppleness in the spine; Tone deep muscles to ‘close the body’ after pregnancy and birth; Relieve stiffness; promote relaxation through breath’s expansion; detox the system improving blood flow; boost mood and confidence
