Birthlight Baby Yoga is a lovely combination of baby and adult yoga moves, woven together with songs and lots of fun.
I am a Birthlight certified Baby Yoga teacher. The long term impact of this rewarding and important work is what we call, “expanding spirals of joy” for women, babies and new families worldwide.
My baby yoga classes nurture the well-being of women, babies and new parents.
I’m currently offering 1:1 sessions, couples sessions or private groups for Prenatal, Postnatal Baby Yoga and Well Woman Yoga in & around Winchester.
If you’d like to feel more at ease in body & mind during your pregnancy whatever kind of birth you may have planned my gentle, accessible yet effective practices will help.
I’ve been teaching Pre & Postnatal classes since 2002 and tutoring Birthlight training courses in the UK and around the world since 2008. Postnatal sessions can be with or without your baby who will be included in the session to left out, we can also include Baby Yoga or have it as a separate session.
Well Woman Yoga can be a wonderful support throughout the lifecycles and particularly at times of transition like the Menopause or when health challenges come up.
Give me a call for a friendly chat about what you’d like to get out of Yoga tailored for you.
Helen is a Birthlight Baby Yoga and Toddler Yoga teacher. She is also a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist.
Helen trained with The International Association of Infant Massage IAIM in 2011 having enjoyed attending Baby Massage classes with her son. In 2017 she completed Baby Yoga training with Birthlight. In Baby Yoga classes parents can continue to massage their babies and learn additional moves to support their babies co-ordination, strength and movement. The classes also provide new parents with an opportunity to talk to each other and to find ways to help them to relax and heal postnatally. She runs regular courses in Beckenham and private classes for groups of parents in their own home.
Using her knowledge and experience as a qualified Speech and Language Therapist Helen also runs baby talk classes for babies aged 6-12 months.
In 2020 Helen trained to teach Toddler Yoga with Birthlight, as she wanted to expand this valuable work with babies to parents and young children. Her Toddler Yoga classes support children’s communication skills through movement. The use of song and breath provides parents with ways to support their child’s emotional regulation.
Andrea teaches Yoga with Babies classes for different ages of baby through the wonderfully supportive Pregnancy and Parents Centre (PPC) in Edinburgh.
You can find out more about these classes and the PPC, make enquiries and book via https://www.pregnancyandparents.org.uk/classes-for-new-parents
We look forward to hearing from you and supporting you in your parenting journey.

Baby yoga is great for your baby’s physical, neurological and social development. We gently assist their movement to harness their natural reflexes and curiosity, we also include some baby massage. Baby yoga is great for soothing babies, releasing frustration and helping with mood and sleep.
Part of the class will be postnatal yoga (adapted for dads/carers). We strengthen pelvic floor and gently build core strength, release tight muscles and learn simple breathing practices for relaxation.
It’s a lovely way to bond and move together with your baby at the same time as meeting local mums / parents.
If you find you want to rest or feed for most of the class that is absolutely welcome.
“My baby loves Georgia’s classes – even on days when she is overtired, as soon as the class starts she is all smiles and giggles. The yoga classes are definitely her happy place!” – Jennie

Liz Thompson, infant massage and yoga instructor. Works within the community, hospital setting, private practice and via referral from Islington Brightstart North and Central. Liz specialisies in empowering parents through positive touch and movement in the early weeks of parenthood for vulnerable babies and families.
I am an aromatherapist and qualified children’s nurse. I have been privileged to teach parent and baby classes for the last 16 years and experience the joy that yoga can bring, but am now stepping back from teaching regular classes to take semi-retirement. It was through Birthlight I first discovered yoga which transformed my life and I continue to practice regularly. I am available for teaching individual one to one or small, occasional classes by request.
My name is Karen Wilson and I have been studying and practising yoga for over 10 years here and in America.
My training is recognised by the British Wheel of Yoga, Yoga Alliance and the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs). I am also fully insured.
My classes incorporate the philosophy of hatha yoga with the asana (postural work) and prananyama (breath control). I teach mixed ability classes, private on-to-one yoga, pregnancy, postnatal, baby yoga and baby massage. (Please check out these pages for more details.)
I started practising in Chicago as a means of meeting people whilst I was on assignment with my job. On my return to the UK I continued my practice, attending various classes whilst continuing my corporate job. In 2009 I decided to re-order my life and combine my passion for yoga with the desire for a ‘career’. I left my 9-5 job and started my teaching diploma. I started teaching my first class a year into my course – 10 years on and I haven’t looked back once!
I have been undertaking professional development in yoga for cancer (those undergoing treatment, post surgery and carer support), long covid and chronic fatigue syndrome as well as additional studies in menstrual cycle awareness and knee rehabilitation.
The last 10 years has seen a lot of change through my life, relocations, job changes, studying, pregnancy, motherhood and even the way in which I practise yoga. However yoga has been with me throughout both on and off the mat regardless of how small a time I can manage to fit in. The yoga philosophy has helped me come to understand and manage these changes and the time of my mat has helped me to hold onto something concrete whilst also understanding that even my yoga practise has to adapt with life.
I teach baby yoga at The Lemington Centre on Tuesdays 10-11am (term time only). I also teach Toddler yoga on Fridays 10-11am (term time only) at West Denton Community Centre, Hillheads Road, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE5 1DN.
