Studio Vandaan was set up by Danielle van Grieken in 2010 and as a city-based yoga studio is completely focused on yoga and relaxation around motherhood. Our team offers small-scale live, live-stream and online Fertility, Prenatal and Postnatal Yoga classes. We will guide you in a professional and personal way and will always take your personal wishes into account; no matter where you are! Studio Vandaan is opgericht door Danielle van Grieken in 2010 en is als yogastudio volledig ingericht op het moederschap. Fertiliteitsyoga, zwangerschapsyoga, postnatale yoga: bij ons vind je alle begeleiding op je pad van kinderwens tot moederschap. Onze yogadocenten, doula’s en masseurs zijn allemaal betrokken en liefdevol. I started my practice in 2008 while travelling in India. Hatha yoga classes were my first experience. The more I practised the more I realised the needs not only of my body but the whole thing which is called “I am”.  After came pregnancy – one, then another and I became completely sure about the fact that I am a woman. And my practice started slowly to change from static strict forms to smooth slow movements. I started to pay more attention to the feelings, emotions which come and  go throughout the practice and I became more attentive to the sensations. I was fascinated by Birthlight approach in helping women preserve health, become strong and feminine altogether.

EN:Women’s bodies are incredibly well prepared for gestation and childbirth. However, sedentary and stressful lifestyles compromise these innate capacities, not to mention how society conceptualizes pregnancy and childbirth as a medical event in which the woman has little or no power. I believe that yoga can help you live a healthier  pregnancy and birth: to feel stronger, more mobile, to create the best possible ecosystem for your baby, to avoid debilitating aches and pains, to learn to use all the physiological tools that nature has given you. My classes are fun, intense, compassionate and full of information.

Sin embargo, los estilos de vida modernos, sedentarios y estresantes, comprometen esas capacidades innatas, por no hablar de como la sociedad conceptualiza el embarazo y el parto como un suceso médico en el que la mujer tiene poco o ningun poder. Creo que el yoga puede ayudarte a tener un embarazo y un parto saludables: a sentirte más àgil y sana, a crear el mejor ecosistema posible para tu bebe, a evitar molestias y dolores debilitantes, a aprender a utilizar todas las herramientas fisiologicas que la naturaleza te ha dado. Pregnancy yoga in Seaford and surrounding areas in East Sussex is suitable for everyone from 14 weeks up to birth. Classes are friendly, informal and provide a wonderful way to remove aches and pains, create more space for your growing bump, care for your posture, encourage baby into the optimal fetal position for birth, learn calming breathing techniques for pregnancy, birth and beyond, feel positive, bond with your bump, prepare for the birth, relax and meet others. Moves are adapted when needed for example for pelvic girdle pain.  Classes are run in 5 week blocks on Tuesdays in Seaford and people tend to keep coming until they have their baby. If you miss a week, a recording can be sent. No experience is required before attending.

Pregnancy Yoga classes, in a welcoming comfortable and safe space, offer a different theme every week, from ‘Posture and Back Care’ to ‘Breathe in the Land of the Undoing’. Birthlight core practices are reinforced each week, antenatal yoga breathing is a constant, and everyone’s favourite section, deep baby-bonding relaxation, is developed over the weeks to enable everyone to develop the skill of surrendering to their natural deep relaxed state.

The first 4 weeks is offered as a course, then subsequent sessions are on a drop-in basis.

Come and enjoy pregnancy yoga. Suitable from 14 weeks to birth.  Enjoy gentle stretches and toning. Learn calming breathing techniques that are so beneficial pre and post natally and when birthing.  Meet others and share experiences, bond with your baby, prepare for the birth and enjoy time to relax.  Suitable for everyone with modifications including for those with pelvic girdle pain.

Baby yoga (and baby massage) classes are run in Hailsham and other areas in East Sussex  (also on Zoom). Suitable from a few weeks old to crawling.  Enjoy songs, stretches, gentle toning and relaxation for your baby and you and meet others.  Classes are friendly, informal, inclusive and offer variations for each move for the baby according to his/her age, development stage and personality. Each term there is a different theme with different songs and the opportunity for fancy dress for the final week.  Gentle post natal exercises are included for mothers including care for the pelvic floor and if you have diastasis recti. Props such as baby yoga balls and sensory scarves add to the fun.  All classes are very baby friendly and parents dip in and out of the class to feed, cuddle etc. If you miss a week, I send you a recording. A yoga pack is included with lots of exercises, songs and post natal breathing in.  Home made cakes are provided for the final week!

Ongoing support provided with baby massage, post natal yoga. I also teach pregnancy yoga.

Leuk om (digitaal) kennis te maken! Mijn naam is Jessica Zijlema. Ik woon samen met mijn man Sander en onze dochter Sarah in Tiel. Vanuit mijn bedrijf Essential Health bied ik in de Betuwe zwangerschapsyoga, postnatale yoga en mama & baby lessen aan, zowel in groepsverband als individueel.

Sinds 2007 werk ik al als Yoga- en Pilatesdocent en Masseur. Tijdens mijn zwangerschap en bevalling heb ik enorm veel gehad aan de ontspannings- beweeg- en ademhalingstechnieken die ik daaruit kende, en ik had daardoor een prachtige, bijzondere en snelle bevalling. Dit wilde ik graag delen met andere (aanstaande) mama’s! Daarom ben ik na de geboorte van onze dochter gestart met het geven van zwangerschapsyoga lessen en zwangerschapsmassages.Toen een paar jaar later HypnoBirthing op mijn pad kwam, was de cirkel voor mij echt rond.

Het is zo mooi om te zien hoe ontspanning en het vertrouwen in je lichaam je helpt tijdens de geboorte van je kindje, waardoor de bevalling voorspoediger en comfortabeler verloopt. En ik vind het bijzonder dat ik jou als aanstaande ouder de tools mag aanbieden om met vertrouwen en vanuit je eigen kracht je voor te bereiden op een prachtige, ontspannen en mooie komst van je kindje!

Pregnancy Yoga Virtual Class

Level: Beginner

This class is suited to pregnant women from 14 weeks to 40+ weeks. It is full of wonderful safe stretches suitable to help with the changing pregnant body. You will also learn breathing techniques that are invaluable for labour and all kinds of birth.

Vera has been practicing yoga since 1992 and teaching from 2004 (holding teaching diplomas across number of disciplines from BWY, Birthlight, Yoga Therapy and Children Yoga). Vera has extensive training in meditation and mindfulness practices and has been supporting women as a birth and postpartum Doula since 2008.

Among her over 2000 hours of training in many traditions of yoga, yoga therapy and doula supporting work, Vera specifically focused on training in yoga nidra, hypnosis and restorative yoga as she feels that without restorative practice and ability to enjoy and come to terms with the stillness, deep transformation is difficult, especially in the current fast-paced environment and this stillness allows our bodies to restore health in a holistic way.

She brings this restorative approach to all therapeutic work she does with focus on provision of support covering all aspects of female lifecycle (from fertility issue through pregnancy, birth, postpartum and beyond).

Particulars: Vera’s Birthlight classes cover well-woman, fertility, pregnancy and postpartum milestones in female life. They are held in small class environment and whilst largely based on Birthlight curriculum also include all the knowledge that Vera has gained in supporting these stages through her yoga therapy and doula work.
