Yoga Garden Party - The Hope Foundation
It was a pleasure to be involved in this year’s Yoga Garden Party, a major fund raising event pioneered by Simon Low, the founder of Yoga Academy, in support of The Hope Foundation.
I was very moved by the speech of the honorary director, Maureen Forrest, about the expansion of projects by The Hope Foundation that has a record percentage of donated funds used directly by recipients. Vicky Stevenson, who is a Birthlight Perinatal Yoga and Baby Yoga Teachers, was one of the two excellent organisers assisting Simon to coordinate this event at Commonworks Farm in Kent. It was a fantastic English Summer day with good yoga, music and food, and then the great news that £20,000 was raised. I got motivated to think about how to make use of our Birthlight’s pelvic yoga to help Kolkata young girls who have been rescued from sexual trafficking through Hope.
Thank you Simon Low for a stimulating Yoga day in the company of teachers around you. In the order of teaching Bridget Woods Kramer, Eija Tervonen, Isabel Andraca, Clive Fogelman, Ben Saxon from Total Yoga Hub, Philip Xerri, Angus Ford-Robertson, John Scott, Choi Kok, Nahid de Belgeonne from Glow Yoga, Naomi Absalom Yoga, Ben from Yoga Nidra Network, KiKi Morrin, Gary Carter, Mimi Kuo-Deemer Yoga, Graham Burns, Jonathan Sattin and Yoganory.
The Yoga Garden Party 2016 will take place at Commonwork, Kent on Saturday 30th July 2016.
