Farewell to Taipei
It was with a very heavy heart I said my farewell for the last time to Taipei, and the wonderful Birthlight team who give of themselves so freely to Birthlight tutors who have the privilege to work there.
My journey started almost 9 years ago. Fellow Birthlight tutor Shawn Tomlinson and myself set off as tutors for the first trainings to be held in Taipei. Little did we know at that time how radically Birthlight would grow in Taiwan, and all thanks to two amazing “mummies” Judy Kou and Diana Chendana.
Shawn and I were made most welcome. From the very beginning we felt as part of Judy and Diana’s family. Shawn and I were there to support each other as I tutored in baby yoga and Shawn in baby swimming. We worked hard, and also took time to see part of the country, spending a few days after the trainings to relax at one of the hot spring areas, and a most memorable day, escorted by our now familiar driver, Mr Wong, who took pride in showings many of the sites in the city of Taipei and surrounding areas. We cannot thank him enough.
I have returned to Taipei on 3 occasions since then. I have loved each trip. Enthusiastic, well organised co-ordinators. Fabulous students keen to grow and learn the gentle Birthlight methods. comfortable accommodation, amazing food warm friendly people. I cannot thank you enough.
I must give special thanks to Judy and Diana, plus their families, for the amount of time and effort the give, not only to us as tutors, but to The Birthlight family. It has been wonderful to watch and have been a part of the growth of Birthlight Taiwan. I know with Judy and Diana at the helm Birthlight will continue to grow in this beautiful Island. I shall continue to watch this growth. I wish Judy and Diana all the best for their continuing work with Birthlight. I hope they will accept my personal invitation to visit Ireland in the not to distant future.
